Biggest Fear When Diagnosed

Hadn't accomplished all the things I had dreamed of doing

How did you overcome that fear?

Looked to my mom as a survivor and tried to emulate her attitude

What got you through your cancer experience?

My family, good friends and the YWCA Encore support group

What advice would you like to pass on to others?

Keep a sense of humor and ASK QUESTIONS!

What was the most important lesson you learned?

Take a deep breath and go on.

What would you like to tell other women who are either newly diagnosed or too afraid to seek treatment?

Find a support network and contact a local support group for someone to be with you during appointments, etc.

Best advice given to me by a Survivor

Laugh a lot and try to keep things in perspective by remembering all the good things in your life.

MY STORY

user_story_field

I was diagosed with a very aggressive form of cancer, so went through 6 months of chemo, then a mastectomy, followed by 6 weeks of radiation. That was followed by 5 years of Tamoxofen. I have been cancer-free for 15years and am retired to do all the cross stitching, reading, and beading I wish!
